Trade Show 2005

A Marketing Opportunity for Small Business

Friday July 29, 2005, Nevis Crafthouse

Trade Show 2005, July 29, 2005

A Marketing Event for the Small Business Community.

This Small Business Day Marketing Event at the Nevis Crafthouse offers traders one-day access to a market for their locally created goods, as well as showcase available products and services.

The day will feature vendor booths inside and outside on the grounds with workshops for current and potential business people. The booths will be arranged in clusters on the grounds, keeping like products in close proximity. The clusters will be divided into Food, Arts & Craft, Personal Services, Workshops and Textiles. Each cluster will have large signage on top so that customers can find the suppliers easier.

Marketing of the event includes promoting booth competitions, such as most colourful, best coordinated, most organized, and best new product. This would create motivation and excitement for the participating vendors. The announcement of the winners would take place during a formal ceremony near the end of the day, which would include addresses by the Minister of Trade and a representative from the Small Business Association.

It is essential to have music on site, to create and maintain a celebratory feel. This should be a DJ for the greatest variety, but it can also be a live band. The staff of the Crafthouse will participate in the event by maintaining demonstration stations for their products, (leather products, grass and basketry) they will not engage in production that day.
